Water Systems

There are two water tanks on each side of the boat.   The keel tanks each hold 33 gallons (150L) and the bow tanks hold 64 gallons (29L).   At the present time I am working to get the tanks calibrated.   But the gauges will show 236 and 66 on the #2 setting when your bow tanks are full.   When these go to zero, you are then on the keel tanks.

The tanks are setup with one fill per side.   These are located under each bow seat.   Please be careful with the caps.    The keel tanks get filled first, followed by the bow tanks.    The overflows are in the lockers just forward of the water fills, leave this locker open when filling so you can tell when you are fill.

Under the floor outside each head are the water tank shut off valves.   For best water management.  Have only one tank open at a time.   Close the big blue valve for the bow tank and just use the keel tank, that is the small white knob.   When the keel tank is empty, you have consumed 33gallons (150 L), then open the valve to the bow tank and refill the keel tank.   Close the valve again on the bow tank.     If you don’t want to jump through all these hoops, just use one side of the boat at a time, so you always have a reserve.

The boat is equipped with a primary and also a backup water pump.   The water pumps are located under the sink in each head.   When a water tank is empty you will hear the pump running.   Try not to let the pump run try.    Should the water pump fail and eventually it will, there is a switch under the Navigation Station in the little wooden closet, this switch changes water pumps, this isn't labeled.

After you have run out of water it does take a while to pressurize the system.   The quickest way is to open several faucets.

The hot water heater is on the port engine and it has a very large capacity.   This water is extremely hot!!!    When showering, always test the water each time you turn it back on.

When showering below, please use the shower curtain in the head.   This will protect the wood trim and keep the floor outside from getting wet.

Outside Showers

There are two showers outside.  Port side is both hot and cold, starboard side is just cold.   Again be careful when using the hot outside, as it can be very hot.   The hot/cold setup runs continually when it is turned on so watch the water consumption.
