Lights

One key to battery management is usage of lights. The lights in the main salon are setup on dimmers. Use minimal lighting will help conserve battery power. Don’t leave the boat at night with all the lights burning.

There is also one overhead light in the main salon.

On the transom are courtesy lights. This are designed to help you board the boat at night. Please turn these off when you are back aboard or go to bed.

Many boats run their anchor light while on a mooring ball. It wastes battery power and is not required. Too many people forget to turn the anchor light off, the end result is a burned out bulb.

The less lighting you use, the less time you have to run the engines. The section on the Link 2000 will show you how to manage the batteries.
